Healing Little Hearts
Children and their caregivers often struggle to find developmentally appropriate grief support after the death of a loved one, leaving many families without the tools or safe spaces they need to navigate childhood bereavement. Healing Little Hearts aims to fill this gap with a compassionate, 7-week program for children ages 4–12 and their parents or caregivers, offering age-grouped, therapist-led sessions where children can express emotions, learn coping skills, share memories, and connect with grieving peers. While children take part in planned therapeutic activities supported by trained clinicians and volunteers, caregivers will engage in a parallel peer-led group designed to strengthen their understanding of how children grieve and build strategies to support their child’s emotional needs. Together, these sessions aim to foster healthier emotional expression, improved family communication, and a stronger network of support for families navigating loss.
